It was a disney princess theme party so she was cinderella.

Asmita got her first "performance review" sheet after a year in her school (Prakriya). Shes had fun and is eager to go everyday and that's what matters !

The wife and I are not going to fall for the "gotta rush to get to score 99.99%" line. If I can turn out to okay, so can my kid. Childhood should be fun. I wish a lot of people I meet can sit and enjoy the sound of silence, and see the little joys of being here.

Back from Vacation in Manali

We all had a rollicking time in Manali, Himachal pradesh. The idea was to have Asmita experience her first snowfall , get her excited about the hills and skiing. The first two days were a let down as the snowfall till then was dismal. Luckily, the rest of the week saw fresh snow and we could go out and ski.

And ski we did !

Stopped in Delhi on the way to check out the Taj Mahal at Agra. It was a day trip steeped in history. The place was fascinating and haunting given that I had just finished the book "the Last Mughals". Check my pics in flickr.

I have to mention my dismay (I have gone past being shocked at stuff like this) at the state of the Yamuna behind the Taj. The river was a just a sewage drain ! Black and with plastic and other disgusting flotsam. Agra will have to treat this water ASAP, but I suppose the UP government has other fish to fry given the gruesome stuff getting uncovered in Noida.

Testing blogging and moving personal site here..

While Bangalore is being kicked in the face for having thought lofty thoughts about becoming a global city, I have been trying to save a couple of thousand rupees, and hosting my blogs and random stuff in blogger,Flickr and assorted free space.

I think I'm getting ripped off with "hosting" offers. All I needed was space for an occasional rant and my kiddo's pics. Oh yes, I still nurture dreams of updating my blog and having a section for minimalist "design" ideas. I'm going to try my best to put it up as soon I can get my lazy butt to it.
